Circulation in pools occurs in 2 main ways.
1- Overflow System
2- Internally Suction (Skimmer) System
Overflow System
This type of pool has a balance tank. The water absorbed from the balance tank is filtered and pressed into the pool. The overflow chute can be located inside the pool or outside the pool. Internal or external overflow pools are generally preferred in official game pools, Olympic pools, and large facility pools. It is important that the water overflows in order to clean it well. In addition, it is important to choose an overflow in order to homogenize the ripple effect of the water, especially in competition pools.

Internally Suction System
These pools are also known as “skimmer systems”. These pools do not have an overflow channel and therefore there is no balance tank. The water absorbed through the windows of 20x20, 20x30 cm on the walls of the pool is filtered and pressed into the pool again. The water level in these pools is always 15-20 cm below the top of the pool. This system is often identified with prefabricated pools. It is rarely used in classical reinforced concrete pools. The competition is not suitable for Olympic and official playing pools.
