OLD GENERATION – NEW GENERATION CHLORINE DISINFECTION SYSTEMSIN SWIMMING POOLS

We love to swim. When it comes to vacation, the sea, pool, sun and sand come to mind. Swimming is also a good sport. Therefore, apart from the facilities, many people also have a pool in their home. Of course, when it comes to the pool, the most important issue for both pool owners and users is whether the water is clean in terms of microbes. For those who own a pool, this issue can sometimes be extremely overwhelming.

 

Comparison of Standard (Traditional) Chemical Disinfection and Salt-Chlorine Disinfection: The most common method applied in the world to kill microbes in pool water is disinfection with chlorine. In other words, it is the disinfection of the pool water by using some chemicals or gases containing chlorine. The most common chlorination method is the use of powdered chlorine or liquid chlorine. Powder chlorine is used in the form of granules or in compressed form as tablets. Liquid chlorine is in liquid form. Liquid chlorine is also known as bleach among the people, but in fact it is not exactly like that. For bleach, raw liquid chlorine is taken and diluted, various additional surfactants, colorants and fragrance chemicals are added into it. For this reason, bleach sold in the market for cleaning purposes is not suitable for pools and cannot be used. In parallel with the development of technology, chlorination systems have also developed. In pools, chlorine is added manually, that is, manually. In this method, there are constant problems because the chlorine level in the water cannot be kept at the same level. We recommend that chlorine is automatically dosed instantly with an electromechanical system. These electromechanical systems can be grouped as STANDARD systems that have been used for years and have become traditional, and new generation SALT-KLOR generators. STANDARD AUTOMATIC CHLOR-PH DISINFECTION UNIT

This system consists of 2 dosing pumps + Automation panel + Chlorine and PH measuring instruments. Since this system is very common, it is advantageous in price. The dosing pump in the system pumps liquid chlorine prepared from industrially produced liquid chlorine or powder chlorine into the pool. Since industrial liquid chlorine lowers the PH so much, a large amount of PH reducer is dosed to balance the PH. Chlorine and PH are pumped directly into the pool by dosing pumps from drums or tanks with their original packaging. The chlorine and PH ratio in the measurement water taken from the pool is measured by the electrodes, and if there is a missing amount, the dosage continues. Otherwise, the dosing pumps stop. In this system, the risk of chlorine-amine (carcinogenic chlorine) formation is high, depending on the bound chlorine (ineffective chlorine) and the organic matter load in the water. It also has a strong chlorine smell. Since industrial chlorine is corrosive, it causes redness and itching on sensitive skin. Pool water is unstable due to the need for constant PH dosing. Chemical consumption is high. As the bound chlorine increases, the disinfection efficiency decreases and the water becomes cloudy. Industrial chlorine has a negative effect on pool equipment and accessories. Due to the risk of chlorine in these systems, we recommend installing an additional ozone disinfection system. SEMI AUTOMATIC SALT-CHLORINE DISINFECTION UNIT

This system consists of an electrolysis unit that produces chlorine from Salt + Salt + Automation panel + PH Dosing pump + PH measuring electrode. In this system, some models do not have a chlorine measuring electrode, some models have. The system produces chlorine so that 0-3 ppm of natural chlorine is formed in the pool. Natural chlorine is produced instantly by electrolysis method from salt (NaCl2, CaCl2, MgCl2) mixed with pool water. If there is no chlorine/redox measuring electrode in the system, the amount of chlorine cannot be set. With manual tests, the system is adjusted manually. If chlorine/redox electrode is integrated, chlorine/redox Min. and max. value is set in a requested range. The salt used for chlorine production is mixed into the pool water once a year and dissolved. If necessary, salt is added to the pool in monthly periods. For this control, either simple kits that measure salt are purchased or the device is taken as a salt concentration meter. The generator produces natural chlorine by breaking down the salt in the pool water. The chlorine produced is not aggressive like industrial chlorine. Corrosion level is low. Therefore, it does not damage the equipment. Does not irritate the skin. It is not carcinogenic. The chlorine produced in this way does not smell and stays in the water longer. Since it does not increase the pH, the need for a PH increaser is either not at all or at the level of 1/10 of the need in industrial chlorination. In this system, since some hydrogen gas and oxidizing compounds are produced as by-products during electrolysis chlorine production in most models, natural oxidation is provided with these agents, and there is no need to use ozone disinfection. Due to the effect of these oxidative agents, organic materials are burned before chloramines are formed. Salt-Chlorine generators are 2-5 times more costly than the standard system. But the cost of chemical consumables is also 3-4 times lower. The biggest disadvantage of this system is that the electrolysis cell needs to be changed every 4-5 years. However, in 4-6 years, the cost of the electrolysis cell will be equal to the money to be given to the chemicals.We recommend you to use this new generation system for your health. FULL AUTOMATIC SALT-CHLORINE DISINFECTION UNIT

This system is like a pilot chlorine production facility. Unlike the semi-automatic system, natural liquid chlorine is produced from salt in the pool engine room and liquid chlorine is pumped into the pool. In this system, Salt Melt tank + Chlorine Solution Tank + PH Solution Tank + An electrolysis cell producing chlorine from salt + Liquid Chlorine Storage Tank + Automation panel + Chlorine and PH Dosing pump + Chlorine and PH measuring electrode. The system presses chlorine at the set value in the pool. Also, salt is not mixed into the pool. Clean raw salt (NaCl2, CaCl2, MgCl2) is put into the raw salt reservoir of the generator. The water thrown into the chamber is turned into a solution by the automatic dosed water by the device. The device is produced instantaneously by the electrolysis method by automatically drawing this salt water solution into the electrolysis cell. The device works like a small chlorine production plant, as it produces natural liquid chlorine from the solution in the salt solution tank and deposits it into a tank. The chlorine produced is not aggressive (corrosive) like industrial chlorine. Corrosion level is low. Therefore, it does not damage the equipment. Does not irritate the skin. It is not carcinogenic. The chlorine produced in this way does not smell and stays in the water longer. Since it does not increase the pH, the need for a PH increaser is either not at all or at the level of 1/10 of the need in industrial chlorination. In terms of price, it is 8-10 times more costly than the standard system, and 2-4 times more costly than the semi-professional salt-chlorine system. But the cost of chemical consumables is also 3-4 times lower. The biggest disadvantage of this system is that the electrolysis cell needs to be changed every 4-6 years. Fully professional salt-chlorine devices are more suitable for olympic swimming pools, large pool facilities and health facilities with high chemical consumption due to their costs. In order to reduce the chlorine level (0.3-0.5 ppm) in large pools, we recommend using it in combination with ozone.
